about me

Central Indiana Bus Service

It’s been over 20 years since Dan Bryant, President of Eagle Wings, decided to hit the road, and it’s a decision he doesn’t regret. Dan Bryant, who worked as a teacher with Eastbrook High School in Marion, Indiana and as a youth leader/pastor for 20 years, celebrated the 20-year anniversary of Eagle Wings Bus Ministry in September of 2017.

Eagle Wings is directed by a Board of Directors that has over 30 years experience with mobile retreats and trips. The board has brought together their combination of talents and expertise to make Eagle Wings what it is today. The most senior member of the board “started it all” with the purchase of a sleeper bus called Possum 2 designed by Wandering Wheels of Upland, Indiana. Later on, Eagle Wings purchased additional buses and currently maintains a fleet of traditional 56 passenger motorcoaches as well as a sleeper bus option for smaller groups.

The name of the company comes from Isaiah chapter 40, verse 31, which says, “ … but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not grow faint.” “Our company is supposed to get you down the road,” “We’re moving God’s people where they need to go.”

Eagle Wings takes groups on a variety of trips such as New York City, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and Orlando to tour the areas. Sometimes it’s simply a group headed to a baseball game or on a pleasure outing. The groups we take are as varied as the trips. Some groups are local; some are from other states. Nonprofit groups, such as local garden clubs, travel to flower shows in Chicago and Holland, Michigan. We also transport groups from schools and universities to games, national tournaments, and field trips. In most cases, Eagle Wings is simply providing the transportation. However, Eagle Wings staff can also assist with trip itinerary development and coordination for their clients.

Another aspect of Eagle Wings is the overnight retreat. For example, a group may wish to leave on an evening, sleep all night on the bus and arrive at the foot of the mountains in Gatlinburg National Park, Tennessee. The group can then spend the day hiking the trails and touring the sites in Gatlinburg and nearby Pigeon Forge. By late afternoon, the group loads the bus for the overnight trip to Orlando, Florida, where they will wake up and spend the day at Disney or Universal Studios. That evening, the bus is loaded once again, traveling overnight to the beach. After one day of soaking up the rays, the bus heads home!
